Shipping from China to Central Asia - Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan Guide

SilkRoadSource delivers consolidated cargo from China to Central Asia: Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan as the main lanes, with Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan on request. Sourcing starts at 100 pieces per SKU, service commission starts at 2.5%, and door-to-door LCL delivery to Tashkent takes 20–40 days. This page explains the routes and links to a dedicated guide for each country.

Which country do you ship to?

Each country has its own customs regime, transport corridor and import paperwork, so we keep a separate guide for each:

Country Customs regime Typical door-to-door LCL Country guide
Uzbekistan National tariff (outside the EAEU), VAT 12% 20–40 days to Tashkent Shipping from China to Uzbekistan
Kazakhstan EAEU common customs tariff, VAT 12%, EAC certification 3–5 weeks (confirm at booking) Shipping from China to Kazakhstan
Kyrgyzstan EAEU common customs tariff, VAT 12%, EAC certification 20–35 days (confirm at booking) Shipping from China to Kyrgyzstan

If your destination is Tajikistan, Turkmenistan or Azerbaijan, the same sourcing and consolidation service applies — ask us for the current transit schedule on WhatsApp or by email.

Rail, road or sea: how cargo actually moves from China to Central Asia

Central Asia is landlocked, so the route is rail, road, or a combination. There is no practical all-water route to Uzbekistan or Kyrgyzstan; sea freight matters mainly as part of multimodal combinations into Kazakhstan.

Mode Corridor Typical transit Best for
Rail container Chinese rail terminals → Khorgos / Dostyk border → Almaty, Tashkent and beyond 7–20 days terminal to terminal, depending on destination and queue at the border Full containers, heavy cargo, predictable schedules
Road truck Kashgar and Urumqi corridors through Torugart / Irkeshtam (to Kyrgyzstan) or Khorgos (to Kazakhstan, onward to Uzbekistan) 5–18 days depending on destination and pass conditions Time-sensitive cargo, direct door delivery, smaller loads
LCL consolidation Multiple buyers' cargo consolidated at our Yiwu / Ningbo warehouse, then rail or road as a shared shipment 20–40 days door to door to Tashkent; similar ranges for other capitals Small and mixed orders — you pay only for the volume you occupy
Air freight Chinese airports to Tashkent, Almaty, Bishkek 5–10 days including handling Samples and urgent small shipments

Which mode we book for you depends on your volume, budget and deadline. For most of our buyers — wholesalers and distributors ordering mixed consumer goods — LCL consolidation on rail or road is the working answer: it combines several factories' cargo into one shipment at USD 12 per CBM, and freight is booked at carrier cost with no markup on our side.

The full service scope — what is included in each line — is on the China Sourcing Agent page. Import duties, VAT and local clearance fees in your country are paid locally and are not part of our invoice.

Who is the importer of record?

We are not. The importer of record is you or your appointed local broker, because the import declaration, duties and taxes are liabilities in your jurisdiction. What we do is make sure the export side is right: correct invoice and packing list, shipping marks that match the paperwork, and a documentation pack your broker can file directly. The Import from China guide explains the full document set step by step.

What Central Asian buyers order from us

Our lane exists because of what the region actually buys from China:

  • General merchandise and household goods from the Yiwu wholesale market — kitchenware, plastics, textiles, stationery, seasonal goods
  • Hardware and tools from Ningbo and Guangzhou
  • Packaging — including custom-printed packaging for local brands
  • Private label orders for FMCG distributors — custom branding with your name on the product

Frequently asked questions

Which Central Asian countries do you deliver to?

Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are our main lanes, with Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan available on request. Door-to-door LCL delivery to Tashkent takes 20–40 days; for other destinations ask for the current schedule.

Rail or road — which is better for my cargo?

Rail is cheaper per CBM and better for heavy or scheduled shipments; road is faster and delivers directly to your address. For mixed LCL cargo we use whichever combination the consolidation cycle favours that week — the schedule is confirmed at booking.

How much does shipping from China to Central Asia cost?

Freight is billed at carrier cost with the carrier invoice attached, no markup. As a reference, LCL door-to-door freight to Tashkent has been running at roughly USD 130–160 per CBM. Our own fees are separate and published: commission from 2.5%, consolidation USD 12 per CBM, inspection USD 150 per man-day.

Who is the importer of record?

You or your local broker. We prepare the export documents — commercial invoice, packing list, transport document — so your broker can file the import declaration directly. Duties, VAT and clearance fees are paid locally in your country.

Can I combine goods for different countries in one shipment?

Goods for different countries can be consolidated at our warehouse, but each destination country needs its own import declaration, so they travel as separate shipments from the border hub. Buyers serving several countries usually order on a cycle so each country's batch ships as one consolidated lot.

Do you work in Russian?

Yes. Enquiries, quotations, order updates and inspection reports are all handled in English, Russian and Chinese.

What is the minimum order?

100 pieces per SKU, and you can mix unlimited SKUs in one shipment. Low MOQ and mixed containers are the core of our service — see Low MOQ & Mixed-SKU.
